Men’s Health, Why We Need To Pay Attention! That Includes YOU With A BEARD!

While there are many important things in life, if you don’t have good health, you will feel as though life is running away from you. Even though many people will point to factors like their genes or external factors such as the impact of their location or work-environment determining their overall health, it is important that every person realises that they have a huge level of responsibility with respect to their health.

While there is a greater level of understanding of the importance of taking care of ourselves, it would be fair to say that many people don’t take their health seriously. It would also be fair to say that this largely applies to men. Men’s health is a prominent issue and while it is good to see that more and more men are paying attention, there still needs to be a lot of work carried out in this area.

Key statistics surrounding men’s health

Key points highlighted by the Men’s Health Forum which was updated in September of 2017 highlights some of the concerning issues surrounding men’s health in the UK:

  • The average lifespan for a man is 3.7 years less than for a woman
  • Men attend the doctor less than women
  • Men are almost twice as likely to die from diabetes as women
  • For cancers that affect both sexes, men are 67% more likely to die
  • 5% of UK suffer from one of the leading mental health disorders
  • Suicide is the main cause of death for males under 35 years old
  • 76% of suicides are committed by men

The above list is just a small snapshot of the problems surrounding men’s health, and there are many more problems and issues that cause serious issues. A man’s health isn’t just important for himself, it is vital for his friends, his family members, his loved ones, his neighbours, his colleagues, his team-mates and maybe even more people than a single man would ever realise.

We should all want to live for as long as possible and we should all want to make the most out of the life that we have. You only get one life and whether your focus is on looking fantastic r achieving as much as you can, your health is central to it.

Maintaining and improving your health is vital

There are countless people around the world who don’t have good health who look on at the rest of the world with great envy. Maintaining good health is vital because it helps you to do more with your life. There is also the fact that men have a responsibility to others. Not just in a financial sense or in looking after others, but by showing an example.

There is a lot to talk about footballers and celebrities being role models in life for young men but quite often, the most important role models are found in the home, at school, in local streets and if you are focusing on football, on the terraces and on the supporters bus as opposed to being on the pitch. A man’s health isn’t just important for himself, but by taking better care of yourself, you can lead the way for others.

By taking better care of yourself, you encourage the next generation to take better care of themselves, and this will provide a brighter and better future for many.

At Beard Spunk we care about you. On the one hand, we want you looking good and feeling great for many years to come because this means you can keep buying our products!

However, it is more important for us that we are living in a country where men take their health seriously, so we can all prosper and create a better example for those that follow on after us.
